West Coast line is one of the KTM train route running from Padang Besar found on the Malaysia-Thailand Border in Perlis and connects with the State Railway of the Thailand’s network which leads to Singapore via Butterworth, and Kuala Lumpur. It is named the West Coast line since it serves the West Coast states of Peninsular Malaysia and it connects from Singapore to Padang Besar hence the name North South line.
East Coast line is another KTM train route running between Tumpat in Kelantan. Gemas and Gemas in Negeri Sembilan. It is the junction of the rail between East Coast and the West Coast lines. Since it serves Pahang and Kelatang, two of East Coast states of Peninsular Malaysia that’s why it is named the East Coast line.
The nickname “Jungle Railway” was earned because it runs through a deep jungle in the interior. The only state in Peninsular Malaysia which is not served by the KTM train route is Terengganu. Several branch lines are found between Port Klang and Kuala Lumpur, Batu Caves and Batu Junction, Tapah Road and Teluk Intan, Kempas and Tanjung Pelepas, Bukit Mertajam and Butterworth, Pasir Gudang and Kempas, and between Rantau Panjang and Pasir Mas.

KTM Berhad ETS GOLD / SILVER
- Currently only run between Kuala Lumpur and Ipoh
- Maximum speed 140 km/h
- Some ETS trains have a small and comfortable cafe
Electric Train Service (ETS) is an intercity train service that currently operates between the cities of Kuala Lumpur and Ipoh in Malaysia. The maximum operational speed of the ETS fleet is 140 km/h.
ETS trains are currently classed as either Gold or Silver Service. Gold Service trains take around 2 hours and 20 minutes between KL Sentral and Ipoh, whilst silver service trains take around 2 hours 30 minutes.
Some of the ETS trains do have a small but comfortable cafe with delicious offered to the passengers as well.
